i am traveling to south africa in the coming week with my husband
we’re seeking for the exoticness and nature of africa and a diverse sort of entertaining
our destinations are johannesburg (sun city palace of the lost city), capetown, mauritius, and a spot to the north of johannesberg (madikwe lodges) in which they are located in a normal preservation

The places you have mentioned are lovely, but try these as well:
The Kruger National Park or Sabie. The scenery in Mpumulanga – Bourke’s Luck and God’s Window – is awesome (and is only three hours from Johannesburg). Book with the National Park’s Board.
The Drakensberg mountain assortment is amazing, specially Mont-aux-sources – The Cavern (Holiday Lodge)
Cape Town – try some of the B & B’s outside Cape Town. Someplace on the wine route would be very good. Considerably cheaper and greater than Cape Town.
Do not go to Madagascar. it’s horrible. really 3rd globe.

I can get you into a lodge In the Northern Province close to Kruger Park that does rehabilitation of predators and you can walk with the young predators in the morning and afternoon. Game Rangers accompany you all the time. Day trips to Kruger Park and the Timbavati Reserve can be arranged from this lodge too.
The price is much better than you mentioned, my services cost nothing as the Outfitter in SA pays me.
I can also arrange through an outfitter in the Cape for accomodation in whatever price range you want, but it is advisable to stay close to the waterfront as there is plenty going on there all day and in the evenings.

Madagascar is very basic and primitive, I went surfing there and you can get some great waves, but be prepared to rough it if you do that.
Mauritius…La Pirogue hotel generally does quite good deals contact them direct, just google it. There are other hotels available too.
Jan/Feb is hot where you are going, take your waterproof sunscreen (also available in SA at supermarkets), if you are fair skinned take at least factor 18. Take a broad brim hat, a cloth one is fine.
Madikwe is a very nice reserve and you will enjoy it there. If you want stuff to do in Johannesburg, let me know what you like I can arrange a guide but obviously there is a cost attached to that.
Not too sure how much vacation leave you have available, but trying to do South Africa AND Mauritius AND possibly Madagascar is not my idea of a relaxing holiday if you have less than 6 weeks available. To really enjoy South Africa one could easily spend a week in the Cape Town area, a week in the North or North-east (Kruger Park, Waterberg etc), and a few days in Johannesburg.
Also depending where you are flying from in the world your flight to SA could take you 12 to 23 hours flying time, add to that jetlag recovery time, as well as flying time of something like 5 to 8 hours for Madagascar and/or Mauritius. That is a lot of time spent NOT doing your fun things.
January/February is Summer in SA, so hot inland, and hot and humid on the east coast of SA. Cape Town will still be hot, but the sea there is colder – unlike the east coast that has warmer sea climates.
Places:
Lion Park in Randburg – just outside Johannesburg. Day visit or overnight stay. Most people fly in to Johannesburg and then fly to Cape Town (2 hours flight). If one wants to see animals right close to Johannesburg then there is the Randburg Lion Park http://www.lion-park.com/
It is about 40 minutes from the airport and right in the metro area. You can do this in a morning if you wish.
